Women's Harbor Knot Dress - Lowering Knot

April 13, 2017

If you prefer the knot on the Women's Harbor Knot Dress to be lowered. Just make the following two adjustments to your pattern pieces.

Dress Adjustments

First, shorten the curve pieces by how much you would like to lower the knot. For example, if you would like the knot lowered 1" you would mark 1" up from the bottom of the curve and redraw keeping the same width.

Next, you'll need to make an adjustment to the left side seam of the front pattern piece. Find the marking on the left side seam of the front pattern piece. This is where you will add the length back in that you removed from the curve piece. So in this example, I would add 1" below the marking and then blend this back into the curve of the front pattern piece.

And that's it! Just two quick adjustments and you can get to cutting your fabric!
