Hi there, it's me -- Mandalynn! Thank you {sincerely} for stopping by and supporting my dream and boho chic style. I hope you will find something in our creative space that inspires you.A little about me -- Family, sewing and the ocean are my world! My husband and I live in Florida and have two daughters that I love to design and sew for, Harbor Capri and Emerie Skye. Though as much as I hate to admit it, I've been enjoying sewing for myself more lately...shhh don't tell them! In 2011 I opened a children's boutique on Etsy, selling birthday outfits and dresses which turned out to be very successful. At that time though I had trouble finding pdf patterns that reflected my free spirit style and after a couple years I started getting burnt out on sewing the same thing over and over -- that's when I decided to start drafting patterns. It has truly been the best decision I ever made. I've always loved math, computers and being creative and though I didn't know it when I headed off to college to sail on ships...this is definitely a dream job for me and I love every minute of it!
A little history behind the name... I have a 3rd mate's license to sail and drive ships and have traveled over 30,000 nautical miles at sea. Swallows are known for migrating and traveling long distances and always finding their way home. I've traveled far to get where I am today and my journey led me to find my passion in designing and sewing -- and my last name just happens to be pronounced "Swallow"!
Hello there! My name is Ashley, I am a designer at Striped Swallow Designs. I have loved SSD patterns from my very first glimpse of the girl's Coachella Shorts five years ago in a sewing group. I stared testing for Mandalynn early on and not only enjoyed her patterns but getting to know her as well. When I was asked to be a part of the team I jumped at the opportunity and it has been life changing to say the least!
A little bit about me...I am from Washington state and that's where I met my husband who is active duty Navy. We're currently stationed in San Diego and have 2 crazy kids! Like most kids I took Home Ec in middle and high school where I learned to use a sewing machine. About 8 years ago, while I was pregnant with my daughter, I made my first garment using a pattern I found on Pinterest and it has been all fun and fabric since then!
Hey there! I'm Brandi, Design Assistant here at Striped Swallow Designs. I was enamored with the SSD style from the very first photo I saw, and was so pleased to begin testing patterns for the company back in 2017. Since then, I've come to love the atmosphere of the Striped Swallow community as well as the design aesthetic. I am so excited to be a part of the team creating patterns that express my journey so well!
I spent my early years as a Navy brat. As a result, I've learned to be flexible, embrace change, and follow my inner compass. This has served me well as an adult, changing majors in college and moving for my husband's career before ultimately settling down to homestead in rural Maine with our four children. My position here at SSD is the perfect fit for my education, life experience, talents, and interests. I am beyond grateful to be able to do what I love with people that I enjoy!Summer
Hi! Summer Kinne here! I’ve been on this journey with Mandalynn since the beginning. Literally… the BEGINNING. Because… I’M HER SISTER! Until recently, I have enjoyed watching and supporting SSD from the sidelines. It’s been an inspiring adventure and I have been continuously impressed with the dedication, intelligence and creative passion my sister has poured into this company. I have a Marketing Degree from the University of Tulsa and have always been known to be the “Chatty Cathy” between the two of us – Thus, Mandalynn has asked for my opinion here and there over the years when creating design names, descriptions, social media posts and so on…
When she announced she was looking for a Marketing Manager, well… It Just Made Sense! To both of us apparently. (YaY)
I currently live in New Jersey with my husband, GJ, and our baby boy, Lincoln. We moved here early 2019 because GJ accepted a job coaching for the Philadelphia Eagles football team [FlyEaglesFly]. After working pretty steadily in sales for almost a decade, I decided to take a break from that stress and focus on raising Lincoln 🡪 working for Striped Swallow Designs allows me to do that while feeding my go-getter work ethic & cultivating my creative charm.. ; ) It’s a WinWin and I really couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity.
I am thrilled to be part of the SSD team & to be setting sail on this voyage with my sister.

I am Ashley Attema, the Marketing Assistant for Striped Swallow Designs, and small town Iowa farm girl at heart. After I received my bachelors for Interior Design I worked for a designer that also made custom gowns. The clothing design process blew me away and I was drawn back to my roots of learning to sew in my childhood farmhouse. SSD was one of the first companies I tested for and I've been hooked on the style and fit ever since.
I am married to my high school best friend who is a firefighter and diesel mechanic. After 7 years of interior design at a local firm I chose to stay home with our 3 kids. They are 'free range' kiddos on our little acreage and we love to be outdoors exploring. I sew for my sanity and enjoy every step of the creative process.
