With the release of the final pattern from the Northern Lights collection we also bring you this fun and flirty mash-up. I really love the silhouette of the Starry Night dress and when designing the Après Ski I knew it needed to be made into a dress. You can pick up the Après Ski pattern here (on sale through Sunday, Feb 25th at 11:59pm CST) or pick up the entire Northern Lights Collection, including the Starry Night, here (on sale through Sunday, Feb 25th at 11:59pm CST).
Start by assembling the Starry Night dress pattern piece (you will need two), as well as the front bodice, back bodice and sleeve from the Après Ski.
Note: I did not cut out my Starry Night out right away.
Match up both front bodice pieces at the center fold.
Align the bottom of the Après Ski armscye with the bottom of the sleeve curve.
Trace around the front neckline and armscye of the Après Ski.
Using a ruler, here I am using a French Curve, or any curved object draw in the curve to connect the Après Ski armscye with the Starry Night bodice.
This is what it should look like now. Repeat for the back bodice. Cut out your pieces and use the Après Ski View B tutorial to construct your dress.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I can't wait to see your Après Ski dresses. Be sure to join our Facebook Group and share!
Happy Sewing,
Ashley
